NA TRANKÉ!

NA TRANKÉ! 🌵 ( a part of ‘Na Raís’ concept). During October 2025, I was once again on my island, my beloved Curaçao. While here, I did this photoshoot with the amazing BENLEY behind the lens— capturing the essence of my cultural soul. I knew that if there was one person who could capture exactly what I had envisioned, that that would be him. I wanted to wear this beautiful dress made by Nashita Scoop in The Netherlands for the performance ‘Na Raís’ I had created and performed earlier this year. This dress, the performance and the story behind it has shown me in so many different ways that there’s more to tell, to feel and to express. As a PROUD-QUEER-BLACK CARIBBEAN MAN, I wanted to share this with the soil where my roots lay. A HUGE THANKS to Evita Held for loving me. For really loving me and proving this to me as each stroke of her make up brush touched my face, her words of encouragement and appreciation while doing my make up and dressing up and also for collaborating and lending me her backyard for this shoot.
